The Calvin Symposium on Worship is a conference for worshipers, pastors, artists, musicians, scholars, students, ministry leaders, and more. As an ecumenical gathering, co-sponsored by Calvin Institute of Christian Worship and Center for Excellence in Preaching, the Symposium creates space for Christians to worship, learn, and connect with people from many cultures, contexts, and Christian traditions from across the country and around the world.
Symposium will take place at Calvin University on February 3-5, 2027. The theme of the four main worship services will be “I Will Give You Rest,” bringing gospel comfort and a sense of shalom to all those who are weary and heavy laden, by drawing upon the stories of people Jesus once invited to come to him for gracious rest. Breakout sessions, workshops, and retreats will be offered on a wide variety of topics that may complement or address this theme, but they will not necessarily be centered on it.
